SPORTS : Super Eagles rise 10 places in FIFA ranking

The rise in the rankings is not unconnected to their recent 3-1 win over Algeria and 2-1 away victory over Zambia in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
On the continent, the Eagles are currently sixth also with Burkina Faso after being out of the top 10 for a longtime. Senegal are Africa’s number one team and are 33rd in the world.
Cameroon, dropped six places from 59th to 65th position, Algeria from 35th to 38th, while Zambia moved up from 94th to 91st.
Argentina remain number one spot in the world with Brazil moving one spot to second.
In third spot are world champions Germany who dropped one spot, Chile are fourth and Belgium are in fifth position.
Colombia, France, Portugal, Uruguay and Spain occupy the sixth, seventh, eight, ninth and 10th spots respectively.
